Texas Senator John Cornyn says a day after news that CIA Director Mike Pompeo had visited North Korea that both Connecticut Senators had said they were glad conditions were being laid for upcoming negotiations and that sort of diplomatic effort was undoubtedly welcome, Cornyn agreeing to pursue diplomacy rather than warfare and bloodshed, applauding Pompeo and the Trump administration for taking the diplomatic avenue so seriously and laying the groundwork for talks with Kim Jong Un.
