Senators Klobuchar and Heinrich after Republicans shift Obamacare strategy

Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar tells reporters at a weekly briefing after Republicans in the majority adopted a strategy of repealing without a replacement for the Affordable Care Act that now is the moment for the two parties to act together, that if Republicans want to have that vote, all know where it will end up where it should have begun, working together on positive changes to the health care law. Klobuchar raises issues on which there are bipartisan agreement such as reinsurance, prescription drug prices and others, that Republicans owe it to Republicans and the American people to work together as it is the moment. New Mexico Senator Martin Heinrich says there are two choices before the Senate, to take another crack at the law or work to keep a rural hospitals open and fight the opioid epidemic, or to work as suggested by governors and senators to return to regular order with committee hearings and legislation to stabilize rather than sabotage the insurance market, concluding his hope that Republicans are ready to walk through the open door to bipartisan work.
