Ethiopian Christians celebrate the Exalt

Ethiopian Christians celebrate the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, late 27 September 2007, at the Dir Al-Sultan Church on the roof of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem's Old City. The Elevation of the Holy Cross is one of the Great Feasts of the Orthodox Church, it commemorates two events: The finding of the Cross by the Empress Helen mother of Constantine the Great on Golgotha, the place where Christ was crucified, as well as the recovery of the Cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified from the Persians, whom captured it as a prize of war in Jerusalem, and it was recovered by the forces of the Byzantine Empire.
