Actress Bo Derek on the Beach

(Original Caption) Hollywood: Bo's A 10...It's plain to see that Bo Derek is an important figure in the movie 10, which stars Julie Andrews and Dudley Moore. The hero of the movie, played by Moore, rates "the passing parade of femininity" on a scale of 1 to 10. Needless to say, the actress playing the "title" role --- would have to be spectacular. But beauty and sex appeal are subjective; one man's 10 is another's 7 1/2. The field was narrowed to twelve well-known models, but after being tested in underwear of their own choosing, they didn't meet the requirements for acting talent. 10 was back to square one. Producer/actor John Derek suggested his beautiful wife, Bo, for the part. But could she act? Her screen test showed she could --- and the role thus was amply filled.
