Sofia Square is Square in the Shevchenkivsky District of Kyiv, Old Kyiv. It is located between Volodymyrskaya Street, Volodymyrsky Passage, Alla Tarasova Street, Sofia Street and Rilsky Lane. Since the times of Kievan Rus the square was the social center of the city, where an evening meetings were held. In the XVI-XIX centuries regular fairs took place, till today it is used a a center of Christmas Markets of the city.
