May Day Is Lei Day in Hawaii - Stock-Fotografie

Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii, USA - May 1, 2023: May Day (May 1) is Lei Day throughout the islands of Hawaii. Lei Day is a celebration of the Hawaiian culture and the aloha spirit. The Maui Historical Society held its annual free Lei Day Heritage Festival at Bailey House Museum in Wailuku on the island of Maui. The festival featured live music and dance; food and craft vendors; cultural demonstrations; and lei making. For $5, guests could make their own lei, with guidance if needed from native Hawaiians. The leis are made from such natural materials as plumeria and other flowers, palm fronds, ferns, leaves, nuts and feathers. Two senior women take a selfie at the lei-making table.
